E-Mail Discussion List

Any member of Arkansas Press Women can subscribe to our e-mail discussion list, to "broadcast" messages to other subscribed members.

It's a great way to get updates on APW activities, ask other members for information or resources, post job announcements or just share your good news. This is a mannerly low-traffic list of only one or two messages per month, so you won't be cluttering up your e-mail inbox by joining.

To subscribe:

Send an e-mail message to listserv@listserv.uark.edu
Include this phrase in the body (not the subject line) of the message:
SUBSCRIBE APWNET-L Your Name

Replace "Your Name" above with your "real world" name. The Listserv software will extract your e-mail address from the e-mail message, and that address will receive messages from the list.

You will receive a confirmation message from the list server, with information about your subscription. Follow the instructions, then save the message. You'll need it if you ever need to change your address or leave the list.

To send messages to the list:

Address e-mail to apwnet-l@listserv.uark.edu
to post a message to other members of the list.

If you want to reply to a message from the list, use the "Reply" function in your e-mail software. When you reply this way, your answer is sent to every member of the list. (That's what makes it a "discussion" list.) If you think it would be more appropriate to reply only to the sender, copy down their individual e-mail address from the message header and send your message only to that individual address.

To leave the list:

To stop receiving messages from the APW e-mail discussion list, send an e-mail from the same e-mail address at which you are subscribed, to
listserv@listserv.uark.edu

Include this phrase in the body (not the subject line) of the message:
SIGNOFF APWNET-L

The Listserv software will extract your e-mail address from the message, and remove it from the list. You'll receive a message confirming this.

The APW list is hosted by the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville. An archive of past messages sent on the list is available at http://listserv.uark.edu/archives/apwnet-l.html
