TIME TO RENEW for 2009. Be sure your membership is current to ensure eligibility for the 2009 APW and NFPW contest.

If the idea of working with communicators from across the nation to provide professional development opportunities, encourage student journalists and defend the First Amendment appeals to you, then become a part of Arkansas Press Women and the National Federation of Press Women.

Becoming a member of APW is easy. If you're a professional communicator, print out the membership application on this page and send it along with a check for $68.00 to National Federation of Press Women, Inc., Membership Dept., P.O. Box 798, Alexandria, VA 22334. Your check includes $15 for your annual APW membership, plus $53.00 for a year's membership in NFPW. You may also request a PDF version of the application from the membership chairman, or join online using your credit card on the NFPW Web site.

If you're a full-time student enrolled in a two-year or four-year communications program at a college or university, fill out the membership form and mail it to the same address along with a check for your dues Regular dues are $20 for NFPW and $5.00 for APW, for a total of $25. You may also request a PDF version of the application from the membership chairman, or join online using your credit card on the NFPW Web site. Student members may enter the communications contest.

NFPW also has an emeritus dues category available to retired professional members with at least five years of active membership. Emeritus national dues are $20, and APW state dues for retired members are $7.50, for a total of $27.50. Emeritus members can do everything except propose, second or vote on motions, hold elected or appointed office or be counted for quorums. These members are counted in membership totals for delegate allocations and may enter contests.
