Speakers bring strong insights
State Sen. Sue
Madison, District 4 covering Northwest Arkansas, will be
our featured luncheon speaker. A Democrat, and one of the
few women in the Arkansas Legislature, Madison will talk
about legislative goings-on and the challenges she faces
as a woman on the job.
Madison currently holds seats on
several committees in the Senate, including the Senate
Judiciary Committee and the Senate Rules Committee. She
is vice chair of the Senate Children and Youth Committee
and the Senate Commite on City, County and Local Affairs.
She has a website, www.suemadison.com.
Also speaking to press women will be
investigative reporter Jacqueline Froelich, who did
break-through reporting on Harrisons history
concerning its former black community. Froelich, with the
help of researcher David Zimmerman, reported on the
expulsion of the black community in Harrison and the
subsequent cover-up of the events.
Her work was honored by the Arkansas
Historical Association with its highest award for
historical research and has been featured on KUAF Public
Radio and in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. She
is currently in talks with a producer about a TV
documentary of the historical events.

The cost of the conference is $36
per person, which includes lunch on Saturday. The
